Welcome!

Last Wednesday, January 16, 2013, Memaw/ Mom/ Sybil received some unwanted news while at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. She apparently has some sort of cancer in her abdomen. She is to meet with her oncologist Dr. Meshad MD of Southern Cancer Center on Wednesday January 23rd.

She is currently living in Gulf Shores with her husband Clinton for the next few weeks as they make preparations to move back into their house in Daphne, Alabama. They will not be building a new house in Stapleton at this time. Things have been a little crazy these last few days so our family decided to make this blog as a one-stop-shop for people to stay updated with Memaw/ Mom/ Sybil and how she is doing. If you would like to send her an encouraging note, take them a meal, or give them a call you can do so with the information below.

Gulf Shores:
19073 Pine Acres Rd.
Gulf Shores, AL 36542
House phone: 251-943-5053

Daphne:
25836 Royalty Drive
Daphne, AL 36526
Home phone: 251-621-5072

You can make posts on this blog and Memaw/ Mom/ Sybil will see them. This blog can be used as an alternate form of communication to let her know you are thinking about her.

Tracy can be reached via email at tracybish1@gmail.com, Mark at mark.williams@sylvania.com, and David at david@thewilliamsgroup.ws. We will give our best efforts to respond in a timely manner. However, as you can imagine things are very busy and moving fast. We will keep this site updated with pertinent information.

Thank you for your positive thoughts and prayers on behalf of Memaw/ Mom/ Sybil.

  21. Sybil,
ONE DAY AT A TIME!!!!! That is now my motto! Dr. Meshad is my oncologist too!!! I absolutely adore him. Hang in there. Don't get overwhelmed with the big picture. Let the doctors come up with your plan and then go with it. It's okay to see the big picture but don't dwell on it. I will keep up with you with the blog but don't hesitate to call me if you have a question. The folks in Dr. Meshad's building are fabulous. Love you much........Jo Anne (Webb)

First, O how I love both of you! I haven't seen you each in a little while and I pray that you know how much I miss your hugs and smiling faces. I am truly a FAN for sure! My heart broke last week when I heard, Mrs. Sybil, but immediately I began crying out to the Great Healer on behalf of you and your sweet family. He promises that He hears our prayers, and that He is ever near to your side. I pray that you feel His presence. I want to bring dinner one night for sure and if there is ANYTHING at all I can do...ANYTHING, I mean it! Please do no hesitate to call. I am a nurse you know;) I might as well be of use! Joy and I are praying over you each night and your family as they carry you through this time. We love you so SO much!

I hate to think of you two going through something like this. I am convinced the prayers you have prayed over all of us will come back to you 1000 times over or more. Be confident in that and in your God and Savior. I'm praying for peace and wisdom as you take the next step. May you feel His presence keenly and remember the song you taught me Sybil. "It's amazing what praising can do." I love that song and the truth it imparts. Thanks to you I am a better Christian. Anxious to be of service to you anyway you need. Love to you both. Elaine Helms

You and Clinton have been some of our church's greaters prayer warriors and we will never forget your kind prayers for our grandson Chase, especially the one Clinton prayed with us over the phone a few days before his surgery in New Orleans on the 11th. He has four appointments today in New Orleans with doctors and surgeons on his recovery process.Nancy and I want you to know for a certainty that you and Clinton are in our thoughts and prayers daily that the Master's healing hands will be upon you. 57. Sybil, Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for the sweet phone call. I have been praying for you since I heard about you and I know our Lord is listening to everyone's petitions for you. What a testimony you have and the Lord is good and He will sustain you through all this. As you already know that one of my favorite songs that our Senior Sounds group sings, "I Know who Holds Tomorrow", I am claiming that for you because I know He holds your hand!(As you've sung it so many times with us). You have been there for me countless times and now I pray I can be there for you. I, along with many others love you and what more wonderful thing can a person have in life than to know how much he/she is loved and God is listening to each and every prayer! In HIM, Rose
